Overview
In our Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department; diagnosis and treatment of congenital or acquired musculoskeletal system problems, neurological and orthopedic diseases, functional disorders that develop after surgery, movement restrictions and disabilities caused by cancer patients and other diseases are diagnosed, treated and rehabilitated. First of all, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal pain (neck, back, herniated discs, shoulder, hip, knee, foot and hand pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain and osteoporosis), neurological diseases (cerebral palsy, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, nerve injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, balance and walking disorders, etc.), orthopedic diseases (prosthesis operations, hand tendon and nerve injury operations, post-fracture treatment, etc.) and rehabilitation of sports injuries are performed by our Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department.
In our hospital, our specialist doctors evaluate the pain, functional loss and disability of our patients who apply to our clinic, along with a detailed physical examination. If necessary, various laboratory and radiological imaging tests may be requested to determine the causes of the complaint. At the end of all these evaluations, the patient is diagnosed and the most appropriate treatment plan is determined.
Since the treatment process may vary depending on the diagnosis of the disease and from person to person, the patient’s treatment plan and process are evaluated and handled by our Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation specialists on a personalized basis. The aim of the treatment is to reduce the patient’s pain, correct functional losses (loss of muscle strength, joint movement limitation, gait disorder, balance coordination disorder, etc.), increase functional capacity, and treat disabilities that develop after illness, injury or surgery.
Physiatrists and physiotherapists of MEDICALPOINT INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation departments offer healthcare services for patients with low back pain (lumbalgia), osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, etc.
