Treatment Methods

The following treatment methods are commonly used in our hospital; chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, management of pain and symptomatic treatment. Medication treatment and personalized therapy are determined depending on the organ where cancer cells originate from, and the type of cell.

Treatments follow a holistic approach, as oncological patients are also provided with nutrition and diet as well as psychological treatment and support. Furthermore, treatment options for cancer patients are discussed and decided in council meetings held on a regular basis. Medical Oncology is a department that deals with early diagnosis of cancer, cancer screening, cancer prevention and the overall treatment of patients diagnosed with cancer.

What Do Surgical Oncologists Do?

Oncologists are doctors who help to prevent and to treat cancer. They work with your primary care doctor to come up with a treatment plan for you. Surgical oncologists use surgery to improve your condition.

Their main job is to remove tumors and nearby tissue that has cancer cells in it. They also do procedures called biopsies that tell if you have cancer and how severe it is.
